Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea

Honestly, I’m probably not DLC’s biggest fan ever. But when you combine the talents or Irrational Games’ team with their two greatest games – Bioshock Infinite and the original Bioshock – setting a piece of story DLC in between those two worlds certainly holds some intrigue.

Irrational has officially announced today that the first official story pack for Bioshock Infinite will be entitled Burial at Sea and will star the protagonists of Infinite, Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth. But – plot twist alert – this isn’t the Booker or Elizabeth we know; instead Booker is a detective, and Elizabeth has been given a femme fatale makeover. Even bigger plot twist alert – it’s all going to be set in the art deco splendor of Rapture, that hallowed place where we first were introduced to insanity leagues under the sea.

The news comes alongside the announcement that another DLC, Clash in the Clouds, is releasing today. This one unfortunately doesn’t sound as fun and is essential a hoard mode set in the Bioshock universe, with plenty of combat wave-based battles thrown your way if you’re into that sort of thing. It also comes with new Voxophones to find and a few other collectable goodies for you to get your mitts on.

Those who subscribed to the Bioshock Infinite season pass will get Clash in the Clouds and Burial at Sea for free. We have no official release date yet for Burial at Sea, but it is expected to release at some point this year.

The first Bioshock Infinite story DLC pack will in fact be spread out into two parts. The first will be Booker’s story, while gamers can take part of Elizabeth in the second pack in what is being described as a almost ‘survival-horror’ like experience.
